"Greatness is never a given. It must be earned." In his inaugural address, President Obama certainly was off to a great start. Obama spoke about ushering in a new era of responsibility--to ourselves, to our nation, to the world, to the environment. The address spoke to both soul and political consciousness.

On this site we are in the middle of a critical discussion about the Obama Moment. Progressives fighting to restore our values in this country must seize upon the increase in political engagement and energy that Obama has inspired, to meet our agenda for those tangibles that our values require.

Ledbetter doesn't fix it all--hidden in the fine print of credit card agreements, patient consent forms and job contracts is an arbitration clause that deprives you of your rights and allows corporations to continue discriminating without fear of being held responsible. Congress needs to fix that.
