I came on this site in a desperate search for people who DO something. Not just talk, write, or gather together in meetings to talk about talking and writing.

I have spent a lot of time over a long period of time, looking for people who actually help victims of oppression, discrimination...everything that riles us up when we think about how unfair they are, without a notion of how it actually feels like to actually suffer from them.

Every single group that holds itself out as "helping people" follows the same formula:

1. Organization gets money from the government.
2. People go to organization for help.
3. People must meet standards set by the government, or they must go away.
4. So people must fill out paperwork, produce proof, wait endlessly, and sign away all rights to privacy.
5. If people qualify for assistance, they are "helped".
6. The organization can only do CERTAIN things to "help". Mostly, those things consist of: 1) doing nothing to actually help the problem, and 2) making the problem worse.
7. Doubt #6? Well, it makes sense, considering that these organizations are staffed with TWO types of people: 1) students on a temporary stop in their pursuit of higher-paying jobs, and 2) adults who got passed over for better-paying jobs because they're not smart enough, ambitious enough, or hard-working enough.
8. Every organization has a maximum of TWO actually efficient people who actually care. But usually, one of the two is support staff and has no power to do anything for you, even though she genuinely feels sorry for you.

I've had enough of puppets with Uncle Sam's hands up their bottoms. I'm looking for people who get their hands dirty. Who give people money. Who drive cars with dents in them because you can use the money for sooo many more important things than fixing a stupid dent. Are there people like that on this site?
