Unless the owner of a Hybrid gasoline/electric car is also a co-op owner of an electric generating windmill, they may not be helping to reduce our use of foreign fuel oil that is burned in a power plant to generate electricity. And, when total energy system efficiencies are calculated, they may not be conserving any fuel oil at all. Just relocating the point of consumption.

The energy crisis will not be resolved unless the federal government mandates the specification of a specific energy for each application that requires the use of energy. Unless that is done, all decisions concerning the use of energy are nothing but the misguided leading the ignorant.

There is really no new energy, just the continued misuse of existing energy.
