What Does it Mean to Take Sarah Palin and the Tea-Baggers "Seriously"?

alternet.org — She embodies what Thomas Frank dubbed the conservative "plenty-plaint" — an endless list of personal and cultural grievances dressed up as an ideology. It's entirely impossible to engage. And that, perhaps, gets to the heart of what I take most seriously about Palin, the tea-baggers and the rise of this kind of Know-Nothing brand of conservatism: all of the noise it generates is coming close to making the country ungovernable.
