It appears that Baucus group still has a lot of very important issues [1] the have not been agreed to. It also appears the co-ops idea may already be dead because of attacks from the left and right. Can Obama get away with supporting a bill with zero alternative to the current health insurance companies?
Waxman and Rockefeller have requested [2] potentially explosive information about health insurance company profits for when Congress returns (and right before Baucus needs to make a deal with Republicans or not). It should really fire up the progressive base for a public option and make a deal very tough.
Schumer is telling fellow Democrats to prepare for a partisan bill [3].
And Democrats are looking into how to pass health care reform using reconciliation [4].
