Every Friday in our Weekend Watchdog feature, we post suggested
questions for scheduled Sunday guests. You can add your own questions
in the comment thread. We'll also include contact information for the
shows, so we can let them know what their viewers want asked. We'll
post a wrap-up here on the blog on Monday.
Well, it finally here; the last weekend before what will go down in the books — regardless of the outcome on Tuesday — as one of our most historic presidential elections. That means one more round of questions for the Sunday show line-up before the election. So, remember to set your alarm clocks back on Saturday night!
For McCain Campaign manager Rick Davis (ABC, This Week [1]):
Just last month, you famously said "This election is not about issues." [2] Since then 20% of homeowners went "underwater" on their mortgages [3], the economy shrank [4], credit has gotten even tighter [4], states have started cutting health coverage [5], consumer confidence has reached its lowest point on record [6], pension funds have suffered major losses [7], and jobless claims reached their worst level since 2005 at the same time that companies like Merk, Yahoo, General Electric, Xerox, Pratt & Whitney, Goldman Sachs, Whirlpool, Bank of America, Coca-cola, Chrysler, GM and others.
It is still not about the issues?
For Sen. John Kerry (NBC, Meet the Press [8]):
As the presidential race comes down to the wire, news articles suggest Democrats are "nervous." [9] Is an October surprise still possible? [10] Or the potential progressive change [11] stronger?
For Sen. Lindsey Graham (CBS, Face the Nation [12]): Does your offer of a South Carolina vacation for swing state voters [13] who back McCain extend to former factory workers in North Carolina [14]?
