The issue of biofuels is hotly debated even among those advocating a clean energy future. I got two opposing perspectives outside the convention hall, inside the BIg Tent yesterday.
First, I spoke with Josh Boger of the Biotechnology Industrial Organization and political consultant Joe Trippi [1], who made a case that biofuels can be pursued without adversely impacting food prices.
Then, David Roberts of Grist.org [2] offered an analysis skeptical that biofuels could be developed in an environmentally sound and cost-effective way.
What say you?
Josh Boger of the Biotechnology Industrial Organization and David Roberts of Grist.org offer different takes on the desirability of biofuels.
