A Service Employees International Union organizer confronts Karen Ignagni, the CEO of America's Health Insurance Plans at a public forum in Columbus, Ohio, July 22. The forum was intended to be the launch of the health insurance industry's multimillion-dollar campaign against reform proposals being pushed by the Health Care for America Now coalition [1]. Ignagni was asked to defend a statement from a top insurance company executive that the company "will not sacrifice profitability for membership" — validation that the industry wants to protect corporate-profits-first health care [2] at all costs. Health Care for America Now fact-checks Ignagni's response.
