Urgent, new direction needed.

... and the war profiteers are laughing all the way to their offshore accounts.

Our dead and sickened, and their dead and sickened are going to be on this nation's conscience for a long long time ... this 'never ending war' was not necessary!!!

Invading Iraq was illegal, immoral, horrific, and really stupid ... even more outrage is appropriate, in that these young fathers, and mothers, and child soldiers, who had yet to experience adulthood ... whose lives were wasted! ... were cannon fodder for what??? Control of resources? ... that were not ours? That surely is a crime that needs to be solved, and the folks responsible held truly accountable, in a public forum, and in a timely fashion.

My memory is still intact, and I followed the protests, when the build up to invasion was gaining traction, and MILLIONS of people protested in this nation, and millions more, in almost all major cities, all over the world! Millions were screaming how wrong it was ... too many were not listening. I am very, very sad, but not very sympathetic, as regards to those who went ahead, regardless of what the people wanted, with a trumped up invasion of another sovereign nation, which did not attack us!

After 9II many, in many nations, people did say ... 'after a tragedy like that ... we are ALL Americans' ... and now most people, in most nations ... even our friends, can't stand us, and a lot of them really hate us ... and they are going to hate us for a long, long time.

This blow to the human family, did not have to happen ... special forces, properly trained, could have tracked down the actual perpetrators ... we have satellites that can read my license plates ... all of this did not need to happen ... 4 million Iraqi refugees ... 2 million in country displaced and another 2 million ... mostly in Syria ... and we are not even talking to the Syrians!!! ... yet, their economy must bear the burden of our actions! The amount of widows and orphans created by our bombing runs surely must be immoral ... the amount of dead, we do not even count!!! ... but many sources who do count, report figures in the millions!!! Now there is some shock and awe!

To me ... it is obscene that any of our children, or theirs, needed to die, or be blown apart, physically or mentally!!!

A serious mistake was made ... continuing down that same road is insanity, or criminal ... I would say both. As a civilized nation, we must accept accountability, vow to follow our own and international laws, and immediately chart a new course into the direction of the principles we so love to profess.

Freedom, justice, equality, a beacon of hope, and light for the world ... we need to 'walk our talk' ... as one of America's, possibly most honest politician, Dennis Kucinich, has repeatedly said, and I wholehearted agree.
