I'm blogging from the Mothership today, Campaign for America's Future headquarters at 1825 K Street. And what should my eye spy when I ducked out for a snack just this morning? A slick, big fat bus ad with a joyous picture of a blushing African American bride and groom and the legend, "Married people earn more money."
Quelle coincidence! I just exposed that yesterday as a screaming right-wing lie, or at least made up statistical sophistry. [1]
The agency being advertised—on precisely the block where the highest density of influential policymakers will see it, and, if gullible, take it seriously—is MarriageWorksUSA.com. [2] The sponsoring organization is Campaign for Our Children, Inc., which shows no Nexis hits in U.S. media, so who knows what foul right-outfit is actually footing the bill. Love their web address, though: cfoc.org.
