FOX and Feingold

Russ Feingold appeared yesterday [1] on Fox News. He shouldn't have. FOX is not a legitimate news organization. When Democrats treat it like one, they grant it the appearance of legitimacy.

I imagine there are still people here--and, obviously, in offices like
Russ Feingold's--who reason that, if Democrats don't appear on Fox,
then there will be no one to challenge a unanimous conservative chorus. But
that simply isn't so. There is no cable news without people arguing
with each other. Sans Democrats, it will be conservatives
arguing with each other—and dividing against one another. That's golden. In fact, that very segment
would have been some conservative lawmaker expressing his consternation
with Gonzales. And it would have ended in exactly the same way: with
Wallace saying, "By the way, we invited White House officials and
Republicans on the Senate Judiciary Committee to defend Attorney
General Gonzales. We had no takers."
