You may have already heard the good news, which was announced late last week, but in case you haven't, here's something to celebrate: The EPA has nixed its proposal [1] to increase "blending," a process in which treated water is mixed with undertreated water and then released back into waterways. (For more info, see my original blog about blending [2] from last week.) The announcement that the blending plan would be abandoned meant that a counter-bill called the Save Our Waters From Sewage Act, introduced by House members Bart Stupak, D-Mich., E. Clay Shaw, R-Fla., Frank Pallone, D-N.J., Jeff Miller, R-Fla., was rendered irrelevant. But I'm pretty sure the Congressmen weren't too upset.
