Bowled Over by the Bailout Bill: Progressive Failure in Fall 2008 and Challenges for the Future

 
This slide show analyzes the battle in Congress over the bailout bill and why progressives were unsuccessful in shaping the bill as they wanted. But as the original bailout plan is being reshaped on the fly by the Treasury Department and as Congress prepares for a lame-duck session, it is not too late for progressive activists to learn from their mistakes and forge a more effective strategy for enacting a Main Street rescue plan.
