State Renews Blackwater Deal

time.com — Amid investigations into fatal shootings of civilians and allegations of tax violations, the State Department has renewed Blackwater USA's multimillion-dollar contract to protect diplomats in Baghdad. Blackwater has a five-year deal to provide personal protection for diplomats, and its contract is reauthorized each year. The extends Blackwater's deal for the third year.
