Keeping The Lights On

Hurricane Sandy off the CarolinasIt's been rumored for some time that my governor, Maryland's Martin O'Malley, is considering a run for the White House in 2016. The Latest Lie: Romney Doubles Down On Friday's Lie

Mitt Romney told a lie Friday, scaring Ohio's Jeep workers with a claim that Jeep is shutting down US manufacturing and moving it to China. Now he is doubling down on this lie with a new ad. He is calculating that the lies will scare enough poorly-informed people to vote his way, never mind the truth. And we could see a president elected based on just lying.

Conservatism's Disastrous Disaster-Relief Model

In recent years, the metro D.C. area has faced its share of natural disasters. There was the derecho, and before that, there was the earthquake. Both of those were unexpected disasters. Batten Down The Hatches

Here's hoping all of my readers, tweeps and personal friends back east are safely tucked up somewhere cozy tonight and that this storm turns out to be far less devastating than expected.

And, in case you were wondering, Mitt Romney thinks federal disaster relief is immoral:
