The Washington Post Lets Ideologue Write The News

On December 31, The Washington Post published in its news columns a biased article from "The Fiscal Times," paid for by a foundation headed by Peter G. Peterson, who is crusading to cut Social Security and other safety-net benefits in the name of "fiscal discipline." We're demanding that Post executives acknowledge this serious breach of journalistic integrity and pledge not to allow its news columns to be bought by ideologues.

WASHINGTON -- Several policy experts will meet with Washington Post executive editor Marcus Brauchli this afternoon to restate their demand that the Post sever its relationship with The Fiscal Times, a “news service” financed by wealthy conservative budget activist, Peter G. Peterson. Many journalists and media watchdogs have criticized the relationship as advocacy masquerading as news. more »
