Reverse the Raid On Student Aid

In April 2006, we launched a petition drive to pressure House Majority Leader John Boehner, R-Ohio, to endorse the Reverse the Raid on Student Aid Act of 2006. This bill, introduced by Sen. Dick Durbin, D-Ill. and Rep. George Miller, D-Calif., would slash interest rates in half on college loans and, in so doing, save the typical student borrower $5,600. more »

applesm.jpgIn 2005, we launched multiple email campaigns encouraging our supporters to lobby Congress to block cuts to Pell Grants and other education program cuts proposed in President Bush's 2006 budget. The first, in October 2005, urged supporters to ask Congress to reject a proposed a drastic cut to college loan and grant programs. more »
