Mass unemployment is a human tragedy and an economic calamity. We need a bold strategy to revive the middle class, not short-term schemes that waste money and ignore the challenges we face. We’ve got to take on the special interests that rig the rules in Washington, curb big money in politics, and shut the revolving door between legislators and lobbies. Then focus on good jobs first.
Americans face a stark choice for our economy in the upcoming election between austerity economics and prosperity economics. The long-term health of our country depends on economic growth, individual and social security and a strong democracy. Our agenda calls for strengthening each of the three pillars of prosperity.
