Holding guests accountable for their past statements proved too much for the Sunday shows, which went 0-for-3 for the Watchdog.
On CBS' Face The Nation, Sen. Lindsey Graham was not asked to explain his 2007 observation of the Iraqi government: "If they can’t do it by the end of the year, how do you justify a continued presence?” Instead, Graham was allowed to say, unchallenged by the host, that "I believe the surge has worked on all fronts."
On Fox News Sunday, former Bush economic adviser Glenn Hubbard was not asked if he still believes that the Bush tax cuts for the wealthy helped the overall economy. Despite getting the economy spectacularly wrong, Hubbard was uncritically brought on-air as an expert on the economy.
And during ABC's This Week, the subject of public federal investment in our transportation system never came up, despite Sen. Jon Kyl's dismissive comments earlier in the week.
