Wow. Type "Wal-Mart" into Google News and it's clear the big-box retailer is facing battles on all sides. "Proposed Wal-Mart Dispute;" "Wal-Mart Pulls Plan for East Lincoln;" "Planning Commission Rejects Wal-Mart Proposal"...and so on. The news making national headlines of course involves the sex discrimination lawsuit—which will be "the nation's largest private civil rights case" if it goes to trial. Talk about bad PR. Which is why now is a perfect time to lend your voice to a petition urging Wal-Mart to end its campaign against workers' rights.
American Rights At Work is sponsoring the petition, which calls on Wal-Mart to cease its relentless opposition to unions organizing Wal-Mart employees. The petition argues that, "When Wal-Mart employees attempt to stand up for themselves and try to form a union, they face threats, propaganda, discrimination, intimidation and even firings." Kick the beleaguered company while it's down. Sign the petition today.
