Your calls, letters, and telegrams to SIRIUS publicist Hillary Schupf explaining why it's unacceptable to call the liberal channel "SIRIUS Left" and the conservative channel "SIRIUS Patriot" are bearing fruit—anyone see Keith Olbermann's "Worst Person in the World" segment last night?
Better yet, it's shaken loose a precious tidbit from a SIRIUS insider who's on our side: the name of executive responsible for these sorts of decisions. He's Dave Gorab, and his email is dgorab@siriusradio.com.
Tell him we've come up with an excellent solution, a win-win for everyone involved—certainly for a corporation that wants better branding for one of its properties than a name so limp as "SIRIUS Left." (The only losers are the conservatives who are deprived of an unfair propaganda coup, which is the whole reason we're protesting this.) It comes from blogger and radio host Taylor Marsh:
The logos aren't too bad, however. The wingnuts get the eagle, while liberals get the flag with Lady Liberty in front of it. So why not call the liberal station "Sirius Liberty"?
