The week in sinkholes:

San Antonio (VIDEO!): pregnant Katrina refugee rescued after pavement opens up in front of her car; baby, fortunately, unharmed

Columbia, Maryland: "I don't know why it happened," the property owner laments. "It just did." I, on the other hand, have Knoxville: "State workers reopened Pellissippi Parkway on Tuesday night, 24 hours after the discovery of a sinkhole that extended 30-feet deep under the southbound lanes.... During morning and afternoon rush hours, traffic was backed up for more than a mile. "

Tulsa (VIDEO!): "The recent rainfall is being blamed..."

Evansville, Indiana: "Although the opening appeared small, Burger said the hole beneath the road was evidently much larger and could extend out 30 to 40 feet. She said it apparently originated from a collapsed sewer line that caused the ground to wear away over time."
