The brilliant Mrs. Big Con offhandedly just explained to her slower-witted blogger husband what this business of the feds raiding Al Sharpton's offices for his 2004 campaign finance records. Whoever is the Democratic nominee will of course want to enlist Sharpton for voter-outreach efforts; and whoever is the Republican nominee will want to villify the Democratic nominee for his or her association with that dreaded criminal mastermind Al Sharpton.
So the Justice Department sprung into action. The reverend must be re-albatross-ized.
[UPDATE: As Ezra Klein says, my commenters is smarter than me. From hilker: "I wonder how this squares with the Village Voice report that the 2004 Sharpton campaign was bankrolled by a Republican operative."]
