As a longtime reporter covering the civil rights movement and politics, I am appalled that anyone who suggests there is racism in America is labeled a racist. Sen. Obama has been protected by every black commentator (save a couple) and by white liberals who pretend racism doesn't exist. When Sen. Clinton suggests that Obama has trouble getting white support, she is called a racist. We are still a racist society and to pretend otherwise is not racism, it's blindness.
