Thoughts On Politics

Ronald Reagan's famous saying was that the nine most dangerous words in the English language were: "I'm from the government and I'm here to help."

Now we know that the privatization schemes and “Trickle Down Theory” of the Reagan gang haven't worked and have bankrupted and corrupted our country (reference David Stockman's "confession", et. al.).

So the new Reagan-related phrase that should be quoted is:

That the nine most dangerous words in the English language now are:

"I knew President Reagan and I'm here to help."

Because we now know that anyone associated with the “Reagan Revolution” and have gone on to serve George W. Bush have been the absolute worst government administrators. Why? Because they don't care about government and want to break it. Rush Limbaugh said on his radio show: “President Roosevelt is dead and his policies are what we are trying to do something about.” Grover Norquist said “we want to make government so small that it can be drowned in a bathtub.”

President Bush spent his presidency trying to end the “Death Tax” for his 40 highest campaign contributors, and in doing so, he bankrupted the next generation to the point that we now have a “birth tax” with a tax burden being increased on each succeeding generation.

But not every Republican is evil or corrupt. President Dwight Eisenhower, Republican, uttered these words on November 8, 1954:

"Should any political party attempt to abolish social security, unemployment insurance and eliminate labor laws and farm programs, you would not hear of that party again in our political history. There is a tiny splinter group, of course, that believes that you can do these things. Among them are a few Texas oil millionaires, and an occasional politician or businessman from other areas. Their number is negligible and they are stupid." H'mmm wasn't the president Bushes part of that crowd?
