I am a biconceptual progressive and I belong to FAIR - The Federation for American Immigration Reform.
I never really thought about immigration until I started working as a Case Manager/Registered Nurse for a major insurance company that deals with workers compensation.
I live in Illinois which is a very pro-immigration state. I am not pro-immigration.
I witnessed first hand abuses of the workers compensation system by NON-ENGLISH speaking legal and illegal immigrants on a daily basis. Immigrants from Eastern Eurpoean countries as well as Latin American countries. Quite frankly I feel all legal and illegal immigrants from the past decade or so should be escorted out of the country immediately. My job was to aid and abett these criminals. I was required by law to provide translators at every phone call, office appointment, therapy appointment and on and on. These so called unfortunates first move would be to obtain an attorney in spite of the fact that Illinois is one of the easiest states in the country in which to make a claim for workers compensation. It doesn't matter if the immigrant claimant and 6 others are using the same social security number (which just happens to belong to an 85 year old man who is living). It doesn't matter if the immigrant claimant was caught on video sticking his finger into a fan just to get the month of August off because he was going back to Poland to see his mother. It doesn't matter if the immigrant claimant owns an avocado farm in Mexico and he needs a month off to maintain his Mexican citizenship. The stories go on and on and on.
And me - I'm the dumb schmuck good little worker - worked all my life and paid my taxes for what? To see our President give economic rebate checks to all - even if they are illegals ?
I am sick of the immigration debate - and it has nothing to do with what everyone else seems to think.
There is a You Tube video that people should watch - it only takes 9.5 minutes .

If this doesn't get you real on the facts of immigration legal or illegal I don't know what else can.
