To embellish upon what Digby and others have been pointing out, saying that Democrats can't succeed in a presidential election without winning back "Reagan Democrats" is about as meaningful as saying that Republicans can't succeed in a presidential election without winning back the urban blacks who voted for Dwight D. Eisenhower in 1952 and 1956.
