Last week in the Nation I mocked power-lusting "professional conservatives" for the contortions they're twisting themselves into to back off their previous excoriations of John McCain.

I didn't think it would go quite this far.

Once upon a time, Grover Norquist called McCain a "gun-grabbing, tax-increasing Bolshevik."

Now he's endorsing him.
