MEDICARE for EVERYONE!

I heard on a news program that one of the President's advisors has been suggesting to the Health Insurance people that the President supports the "Trigger" approach to health care reform. Do you know if this is true, or just a rumor? I certainly hope it's not true. I think Congress should extend MEDICARE to cover every American, and issue cards to every living American NOW. At birth each newborn could be given a Medicare number, or make new Social Security numbers do double duty. Triggering WILL NOT bring real reform, as the Health Care Industry has proven they cannot be trusted to play fair. Congress should be able to FACE FACTS. Health Care Reform WILL HAPPEN. If it is done in the most affordable way, and covers every American with the care s/he needs, then MEDICARE for ALL is the answer.

As a sociologist I was delighted when the discussion/debate/deliberation time was extended, because that always means that sanity has a better chance of winning the conflict. One of our Justices said it in this way (more or less like this): The remedy for noxious speech is MORE SPEECH. May sanity reign!
