A Three-Part Strategy:
Part 1: Opponents of health care reform need to understand: The plan Obama outlined IS the compromise plan. If they withhold support, the administration will introduce the plan most readily understood by all -- the most easily defended and sold, the only rational approach, really: The Medicare-for-All Amendment, extending benefits to all Americans of every age.
Part 2: Blue Dog Democrats must be told, Vote with the party; otherwise, the party and its supporters will finance and provide the manpower to nominate a Real Democrat in your next primary.
Part 3: No opponent of meaningful reform -- and that's everything Obama outlined, especially the public option -- should expect financing for most programs and projects in the state they represent.
