The sad truth of big moneyed corporate interests reigning supreme

The health insurance behemoths and their lackey's in Congress (Republicans and "blue dog" Democrats alike) are poised to compromise away and scuttle any real health care reform.

This should come as no surprise to those who have closely followed the issue.

It is a sad truth that big moneyed corporate interests reign supreme in this country. Whether they be the financial and banking bandits, the health insurance and pharmaceutical "angels" of profit or the war making "defense" industry that benefits from endless war and touts it as "protecting" the country( to name but a few of our corporate scoundrels).

The list could go on. We Americans have been propagandized and treated like children, conned into believing these "interests" benevolent marketing and public service ad campaigns, which purports to show these corporations as benign and good public citizens, is nothing but deceit that masks their true nature as profiteers and predators.

But their flim flam could not endure without their sycophants in Congress doing their bidding, enacting the laws, regulations, oversight and enforcement, all to the benefit of these interests. Meanwhile, the public interest goes wanting.

Save for the few voices of clarity who recognize and articulate the good fight against this usurpation, we Americans, who have been sold this bad bill of goods, must demand this business as usual will not continue. We must realize we are not powerless. But our passivity, in the face of this insidious usurpation says to these "interests" they have nothing to fear from the people. The real fear is they may be right.
