POLITICAL TRICKS

How did the so-called "Healthcare Reform" get passed in Massachusetts???
The corporate community organized it and lead advocates and sell-intentioned people by the nose.
"Of course this is not single-payer" was their watchword. It was guaranteed profits for the
private healthcare industries. Everyone in Mass. was promised the moon. We would all get everything.
What was central was that the program would be administered and controlled by "experts", the
private corporations. This was a compromise we were told. Single-payer was radical, lefist, and by
definition "BAD". The advocates signed on for window-dressing and because they had no
other choice. The private health companies profited. The "middle-class" was confused because
some things were covered, some not.(The wealthy did fine.) The "lower fifth" were most often sick
private insurance companies do not make profits paying for sick people. Money became
scarce, benefits began having more holes. "We just don't have the money" we were told.

Advocates, thousands of Americans were out-stategized, out-thought, out bought by theose who
make a living doing just that. "Well, they (the private lobbyists) are good at it," sighed
one advocate in exhaustion and totally beaten.

The signing was bi-partisan. And the people did not get what they can get through single-payer
such as HR 676. Let's not be fooled by experts again and again.
