This video traces how progressives helped shaped the New Deal and the post-World War II recovery, and I talk about the lessons for today.
My central point: With Wall Street and the conservative ideology that was used to serve Wall Street's whims being thoroughly discredited, we should see this as a moment where the opportunities are extraordinary to push for fundamental change. But, just as progressives have had to do in other times of economic crisis, we are going to have to organize ourselves as the outside force that pushes outward the boundaries of that change.
