Big Con Stock-Taking (2): Failure Rewarded

Nicole Belle of CrooksandLiars.com wrote an email that gets at the frustration I was trying to get at here about our failure to get conservative failures called out for what they are—conservative failures.

Her subject is the recent dinner party Barack Obama attended hosted by George Will and including conservative failures Charles Krauthammer, William Kristol, Rich Lowry, David Brooks, et al as guests:

Here's the thing that pisses me off: I personally-- a little nobody from Northern California who lucked upon a platform in one of the larger privately-owned blogs--have been right more often on economics, politics and foreign policy in my published posts than Krauthammer, Kristol, Brooks and Will PUT TOGETHER.

I have spent the better part of the last two years proving with links and irrefutable evidence that these jokers don't know their asses from their elbows. We have shown again and again that they are, to put it delicately, full of shit and make up crap and lie to promote their own ideology, completely out of step with what the polls say the majority of Americas want.

The blog I worked on raised hundreds of thousands of dollars to Democratic candidates nationally and God knows how much to Obama personally. We exhorted our readers to participate in the process, to get involved in Obama's grassroots and to do whatever they could to get out the vote. And they did. The commitment of some of our readers just blew me away.

While we were doing that, Krauthammer, Kristol, Brooks and Will kept getting their national multi-media platforms to continue to lie, continue to ignore what Americans wanted and push for already proven EPIC fail policies, and to excuse the worst. president. ever. and deflect all valid criticism of his administration to the point where even my non-politically engaged friends thought that they had crossed over the looking glass because what they heard from them bore no relationship to reality....

I'm so tired of the constant rewarding of those so continually wrong and undeserving.
