It's impossible to comprehend the meaning of millions of people without jobs. One way to better understand the magnitude of suffering is to envision several million individual faces with two eyes, a nose, a mouth, and a pair of ears. Then cluster around each face another two, three, five, or more faces. Mind boggling, can't be done.
How many landlords, Republican, Democrat, Progressive, Indepent, Green, will not be collecting rent, will lose the investment upon which they depend for part of their living standard? Where do those millions of unemployed find shelter and food for their families? Where is this addressed in Obama's economic recovery plans?
Henry Ford understood that his employees had to be able to buy what they produced. The business principle of buy cheap, sell high ignores the simple fact that profits grow when workers are healthy and have money to spend.
