The Vision Thing

Ourfuture.org readers who've been enjoying David Sirota's and Bob Borosage's outstanding essays on the foolishness of the mainstream media labeling everything desirable "centrist" and everything horrible "leftist" need to check out this debate between two historians, Gil Troy and Allan Lichtman on whether Obama needs to govern by "moving to the middle"—or, as the other side of the argument goes, that "Great presidents don’t move to the middle they move the middle to them by changing the conversation about government and implementing programs that work."

One side argues via clichés and slogans. The other argues via forceful evidence and logic. Guess which is which?
