This is really sickening. Add to this the Hill newspaper's story about House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D) and George W. Bush both using their parties national radio address to promote this atrocity, and you have about as good an example as you get of how we live in a one party country, one run by the Money Party who ignore even the experts who say this plan is a nightmare.
The worst part is that the Obama campaign is now having Roger Altman be its official spokesman - the same Roger Altman who was a Clinton Treasury official when the Clinton-backed deregulatory orgy was taking place, the same Roger Altman who is now an investment banker who stands to make bank if this bailout passes, the same Roger Altman who Bloomberg notes "is advising a group of investors who are trying to prevent their shares from being diluted in the U.S. takeover of American International Group Inc." - that is, who have a direct financial interest in Paulson's bailout package. Before you get angry at the questioning of Obama - just ask yourself: If this was a McCain aide, would you say it was unimportant and not worthy of a huge red flag?
What's going on here isn't minimalism - this is aiding and abetting an economic crime against American taxpayers.
It's time for everyone to tell the Obama campaign and your own members of Congress: Hell no.
