On Stupidity

Rick Perlstein's picture

I blurbed this book because—well, just for the reasons I say: it's “[a] smart, stylish, and witty wrestling match with the most difficult problem a democracy can face.” You should read it.

But if you maintain a web site devoted to getting a political candidate elected, you shouldn't—as I tried to argue here—be barking at the top of your lungs that our side is so much smarter than them.

It simultaneously feels good—and proves you're not all that smart at all. This is politics, folks, not therapy.
